The Life of Timon of Athens
William Shakespare\\\'s The Life of Timon of Athens is one of his later plays, composed between 1605-08. It is tragedy in five acts, which tells the the story of Timon of Athens, and the unfortunate circumstances which led to his downfall. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe Magnanimous and generous TImon is loved by all for he is thriftless when it comes to patronising painters and poets, giving gifts to his friends, and helping peo money-all the while unaware of the fact that his own coffers heve run dry. Lter, a proor and desperate Timon aksa his friends for help, but is betrayed by all of them. He goes into exile. Diggingfor roots one day, however, he chances upon some gold. \\r\\n\\r\\nHow will others respond to Timon\\\'s newly acquired wealth? Will Timon go back to Athens, And begin a new life? Shakespare make us witnesses to the tragic circumstance which lead to the ruin of a noble man like Timon. We become anxious participants in Timon\\\'s tragedy as luck and loyalty desert him, and we keep hoping for things to take a better turn.
