Family : English For specialPurpose (ESP) conversational Approch
Many Indonesians study English for special purposes, but find it difficult to make informal and friendly conversation and talk about the family. So I have written a series of dialogues that are commonly used by day in an English speaking families in day-to-day conversation. I have tried to adapt the situations to the lifestyle of an Indonesian middle-income family. The family in this book is Indonesian family, living in the suburbs of Jakarta. The father, Fredi, is about 40 years old and works in an office, in the civil service. The mother, Marie, is also about 40 years old; the son, Heru is 12, and the daughters, Susi is 10, and Lani, the youngest is 1 year respectively. The situations covered in this book take place over a period of one week, and include the most commonly used expressions and vocabulary that an average family uses in conversation. The dialogues demonstrate aspects of English usage for polite, friendly and informal conversation, and will be of particular interest to Indonesians who plan to spend any time in an English speaking environment.
